In recent years, under the guidance of the national “double carbon” goal strategy and the pursuit of high-quality economic development, New energy industry has achieved remarkable development achievements. With the continuous iteration of new energy technology, new energy will become more economical and reliable, and the market prospects will be broader.

Canaan closely follows the guidance of national policies, focuses on innovation and has the courage to make breakthroughs, and has successfully developed a Roller Compactor tailored for the new energy industry. This technology has been applied cross-border from the pharmaceutical industry to the new energy industry and will show unlimited potential.

Canaan LGX Series Roller Compactor

A well-known new energy company whose core business focuses on battery manufacturing. In the past, the company used the traditional coating method to produce batteries. This process was not only cumbersome, consumed huge amounts of energy, but also caused serious environmental pollution problems. Faced with this challenge, the company actively invested in research and development and successfully introduced the dry granulation process. This new process abandons the coating method and does not require the use of liquids such as water and organic solvents. It only needs to mix powder materials such as active substances, conductive agents and binders evenly, and then press them into thin flakes through a Roller Compactor. The dry granulation process not only significantly reduces energy consumption and environmental pollution, but is also far more efficient than traditional coating methods, while simplifying the production process and improving overall production efficiency.

However, the production of batteries in the dry granulation process places extremely high demands on the Roller Compactor. Due to the special properties of raw materials such as conductive agents and active substances, they will produce corrosive acidic substances such as HF when in contact with water molecules, causing strong corrosion to rubber, silicone and other materials. Therefore, during the dry granulation process, the entire system must ensure absolute humidity control. The moisture content in the system must be strictly controlled below 100PPm, and nitrogen positive pressure protection measures must be taken. Traditional Roller Compactors cannot meet these stringent requirements.

Faced with this challenge, the Canaan R&D team rose to the challenge and successfully designed and manufactured a Roller Compactor that met customer needs within a tight period of only two months, and passed the customer’s strict acceptance.

Tableting Effect Display

This machine innovates mainly in the following aspects:

01

The materials and seals of components were upgraded to effectively solve the corrosion problem and improve the durability and safety of the equipment.

02

The Roller Compactor adopts a new connection method and a unique sealing structure, which completely solves the possible powder leakage problem of traditional Roller Compactors. This innovative design is the first of its kind in the industry and has won high praise from customers.

03

A humidity control system and a chamber pressure control system have been added to ensure that the chamber pressure and humidity always meet the strict requirements of customers.

04

The pressing wheel adopts a new texture structure, which significantly improves the tableting effect.

Technological innovation is the source of high-quality development of the new energy industry. Canaan Technology’s innovative measures not only meet the urgent needs of battery manufacturers for technological innovation, but also inject new green vitality into the sustainable development of the new energy industry.
